  • We recommend arriving at the great outdoors between 11:00am and 11:30 am. This will allow us to make sure we have enough time to get your group ready and shuttle you up river to the “put in” location at the Zoar picnic area.

You may need to relax at the picnic area for a little bit before beginning your tubing excursion.

River flow is typically suitable for you to begin your tubing excursion between noon and 2pm.

  • Children ages 10-12 are required to wear a personal flotation device (PFD)

We do not provide tube rentals or shuttle service to children under 10

  • It takes approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours to float down the river from starting point where we drop you off back to our location where you parked your car.

  • During your tubing adventure, you will pass under three bridges. After the third bridge, start looking for the flag pole on you left. Exit the river at Flag Pole Point and walk up through the field where you parked your car.

  • You park your car in our grassy parking lot right along the river. We shuttle you up river to the “put in” location and you float back down to our location where you parked your car.

  • During the summer months, the water temperature in the Deerfield River is typically between 60 - 68 degrees (F). This is cool enough to be refreshing and definitely not too cold on a warm summer day.

  • The trip consists of a series of class 1 and 2 rapids as well as many slow, open areas for relaxing.

There are also rocks and branches to navigate around along the way.

If you follow the rules and stay seated in your tube, you will have a safe and enjoyable trip down the river.

  • We can hold your car keys for you in a secure location while you are on the river.

If you prefer to take your keys with you, be sure to bring a sealable “dry bag” and keep your keys in a zipped pocket.

We recommend you only take what you need on the river and leave your valuables locked in your car.

  • We don’t have food at our location but we are located within walking distance of 3 local eateries.

  • We track the weather forecast and will not rent tubes when there is a high probability of storm activity.

If it’s just raining lightly, we typically stay open for business. Call ahead to be sure at 413-834-2213.
